Following President Joe Biden’s announcement that he would not seek a second term, Vice President Kamala Harris is currently the front-runner for the Democratic nomination. Governor Kathy Hochul pledged on Monday to support her.
Hochul told reporters Monday that the vice president attempted to call her on Sunday after the news broke, but that scheduling conflicts and bad phone service left her unable to speak to Harris. Hochul had delivered remarks at a labor convention at 7 p.m. Sunday in Lake George, according to her public schedule.
