Several subway stations in New York City will test replacing traditional newsstands with high-tech vending machines. This summer, vending machines will replace traditional newsstands at eight stations across the city. According to the MTA, unoccupied newsstands have been difficult to fill in recent years, and they are not doing as well as they previously did.
